Improvisation & Composition

• You can always create your own music at the piano! Sometimes it’s helpful to have a starting point, so here are two:

  • Happy Birthday. Begin by figuring out the tune, then work out a left hand bass line or accompaniment pattern. Try adding some flourishes, like an introduction or a fancy ending! Click on the image for a document to help you with the steps.
